We have a vast inventory of both new and used vehicles, with many options available. Every driver is unique, so we wouldn't presume that one car is a better fit than another. However, the Ford Ranger has several qualities that many of our first-time drivers and their families find essential.

A lot of times, new drivers are interested first in how the vehicle looks. The Ranger doesn't just look tough; it's a high-performance vehicle, too.

The cab is low-noise due to the twin power domed hood that works with the low-angled windshield to channel air efficiently over the roof and reduce wind noise. The signature Ford wide grille opening and rounded arches are aerodynamically functional as well. For those outdoor hobbyists, the high approach, break-over, and departure angles enhance all-terrain capability for climbing hills and clearing obstacles.

The interior not only looks good but feels good, too. Seating is firm and supportive, with accommodations for up to five in the spacious four-door SuperCrew. Instruments and controls are easy to read and operate, with the 8-inch center touchscreen and dual LCD instrument cluster productivity screens providing a variety of helpful operating information.

This truck is versatile with a SuperCab that provides seating for two in front with bucket seats and two in the rear on a bench seat that lifts for under-seat storage. In the XL model, you can remove the bench seat and use the entire space for cargo. In the Ranger SuperCrew, there are four doors, seating for five, and under-seat storage.

There is plenty of room to get everybody and everything you need in one place. We also have accessory packages available that make transporting gear like bikes and kayaks easy. You can use the accessories to personalize your vehicle.

The Ford Ranger meets the demands of all-terrain travel. Camping, kayaking, and hunting are made easy when you can get where you're going without much trouble. This truck performs. With the class-exclusive 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, you are guaranteed quick shifting up and down the gearbox.

The 2.3L EcoBoost engine boasts 270 horsepower and a best-in-class torque rating of 310lbs-ft. You won't have to worry about keeping up when you're behind the wheel of this vehicle.

If you carry gear, you'll be interested to know that the Ranger has a 7500lb tow rating and best-in-class maximum 1860lb payload rating. With this truck, you can tow it and throw it in the back. Either way, it'll get you there!

A first-time driver rarely asks too many questions about safety, but their parents certainly do! We are proud of the high-tech and innovative safety features available on the Ford Ranger and think parents' minds will be at ease once they know about these standard and available safety features, which are a part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist package:

  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Trailer Coverage - If the system detects a vehicle in your blind spot or even alongside your trailer, you will be alerted by a light in the corresponding side-view mirror. You don't have to worry about having enough room to navigate a lane change, even with a trailer on the back, because we do the looking for you. And if you're backing out of a parking space, the Cross-Traffic Alert system will sound, letting you know to apply the brakes and let the cross-traffic pass.
  • Pre-Collision Assist with Auto Emergency Braking - Should the sensors detect that you are traveling at a rate of speed that is dangerously faster than the traffic ahead of you, you will be alerted to slow down. This system helps avoid front-end collisions; however, if you do not heed the warning to slow down and an accident is imminent, sensors apply auto emergency braking to prevent or lessen the potential crash's severity.
  • Lane-Keeping System - This safety feature is definitely appreciated by parents whose children have a longer drive to and from work or college. Sensors alert the driver if they detect the driver continues to veer from their lane of traffic without turning on an indicator or accelerates and decelerates intermittently. These behaviors are indicative of a drowsy driver. In this situation, the system alerts the driver to these behaviors, encouraging a rest stop.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control - Not only do you get to set a particular speed, but you also get to decide on a preferred distance between your vehicle and traffic ahead. The system maintains both, allowing you not to worry about stop-and-go traffic.

First-time drivers are not always looking for the same thing, but our team at Lincoln Heights Ford has a good idea about what looks good, performs well, and keeps drivers safe. That's why we think the Ford Ranger is worth a test drive. See what you think. We know you will understand why we say the Ranger is Built Ford Tough.
