This model is unique. Its characteristics make it one of the most competent off-road vehicles. This is why it is equipped with specific and effective equipment.
Visually, there are several differences from other versions of its range, displaying a strong design reinforced by various accessories and colours. As far as the name is concerned, Ford is thinking of transforming the Timberline name into an off-road product line. The brand's other SUV models could then receive the same treatment as the Explorer.
Timberline's exterior design is highlighted by a dark body colour, a grille in the middle of a pair of slim headlights with LED lights, auxiliary lights and a sturdy bumper through which the set of tow hooks can be seen. The 18-inch wheels are shod with off-road tires.
Onboard, the Explorer Timberline is finished with ActiveX upholstered seats with cloth inserts and rubber flooring. Interior features include Co-Pilot360 and Co-Pilot360 Assist + with intelligent adaptive cruise control that recognizes speed signs, stop and go, lane alert, navigation assistant with voice assistant, 360-degree camera, among others.
This Timberline variant will only be offered with the 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Its off-road power comes from an upgraded suspension with heavy-duty shocks, new springs and sway bars that, combined with the tires, give it 0.8 inches of lift for a total of 8.7 inches. The drivetrain is a 4×4 with a Torsen limited-slip rear differential and a handling system with seven different modes.
The new Ford Explorer Timberline is for the adventurer in you, who doesn't scorn its comfort. Stop by and take it for a spin!
