Tesla's Supercharger network is among the most extensive rapid charging networks globally, boasting over 12,000 stations across Canada and the United States. These Supercharger stations can recharge electric vehicles at speeds of up to 250 kW. Until now, the Supercharger network was exclusive to Tesla vehicles. However, thanks to the new collaboration between Ford and Tesla, Ford electric vehicle owners will have access to this network starting in early 2024.
How to Recharge Your Ford Electric Vehicle at a Tesla Station?
To recharge your Ford electric vehicle at a Tesla station, you'll require an adapter developed by Tesla. This adapter is optionally available for current Ford vehicles. For Ford vehicles released from 2025 onwards, the adapter will be integrated as a standard feature. Once you acquire the adapter, simply connect it to your electric vehicle's charging port. Then, you can use the FordPass app to activate and pay for the recharge.
The BlueOval Charge Network
As a current owner of a Ford electric vehicle, you already have access to the BlueOval charging network, the largest in North America. This network comprises over 20,500 stations across the United States and Canada, including partner stations like ChargePoint, Circuit électrique, or FLO. To access the BlueOval Charge network and conveniently manage your recharging, you'll need the FordPass app. The app enables you to locate available charging stations, pay for recharging, track its progress, and plan your trips based on stations along your route.
